AMPS-4 beta program closed
February 1, 2009

The beta test program for AMPS-4 has been successfully completed.   Beta testers examined AMPS-4 on a variety of hardware, operating systems, and languages, including the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 beta.

Audio Box warmly thanks all of the beta testers from around the world who worked so hard to help perfect this product.



AMPS-4 is now available to the public
January 21, 2009

AMPS 4 is now available for public download.   The current version supports installation on Windows XP, Vista, and Vista64.   The new AMPS Pro interface will be demonstrated and released at the Mobile Beat DJ Show and Conference in Las Vegas on February 18, 2009.



Windows 9x support discontinued
February 1, 2003

Following Microsoft's recent announcement that the operating systems support will be discontinued, Audio Box no longer supports system installations on Windows 95, 98, or Me.   Windows 2000, Windows XP Home Edition, and Windows XP Professional Edition are supported and recommended.



Official DJ Software for Twilite Disc Jockey Academy
May 19, 1999

Edmonton, Alberta - AMPS software is now the official "computerized DJ" training software for the Twilite Disk Jockey Academy.   Their disc jockey training manual "Becoming One of the Elite" will soon include a section covering the details of computer based audio and how it relates to the Mobile DJ profession.

President Ron Waterfield selected AMPS because "I've seen the other programs and it is obvious to me that AMPS is easy to use -- and easy to use effectively"

The Twilite Disk Jockey Academy is accredited by the Canadian Disc Jockey Association and the Alberta Association of Mobile Entertainers.



World Premiere of the AMPS Pro Interface
January 13, 1999

A new standard for computer based audio was set today.   Audio Box revealed the latest version of the AMPS interface, which emulates the appearance and functionality of a dual-deck CD player.   Participants of the Mobile Beat Magazine DJ Show & Conference were able to see and work with a running demo of the software.   The release product, scheduled to ship in mid-February, includes the new features of single card dual channel mixing and manual cross fades with beat mixing.   As an upgrade to the AMPS Standard Edition, the Pro interface allows AMPS users to retreive music from their existing music database.



AMPS system supports software-based speed change without pitch shift
September 9, 1998

Audio Box announced today that AMPS supports real-time speed change (tempo) without changing the pitch (tone).   Previously available only with pre-production editing, AMPS now offers the functionality of choosing the speed/tempo of the music as you are playing it.   By combining the ability to change both pitch and speed in real-time, AMPS users can effectively choose the tempo and tone of their music as they go.
